My Life

Hello, my name is Ryan Jobson. I am 21 years old and live in Hockley, Essex. I have been building my skills in website design & development for the past 5 years, and created my first website when I was 16 and still in high school. At the time, this was very difficult for me as I have dyslexia. With study and determination, I have come to terms with my condition and I am able to adapt my working practices to the project at hand. Since then, I have thoroughly enjoyed this process; I get great satisfaction from bringing the first concept to the final product and seeing how far I can push my skills while designing them.

I had my first professional experience in web development as an apprentice with a local company when I left school and I was working there for over a year with a portfolio of over fifty websites. After leaving that employment, I tried freelance work for a couple of months but could not find the volume of contracts to support myself. Consequently, I found part-time work at a fast-food restaurant chain (being offered a managerial post in that time), but declined the position when I realised that my heart was not in this type of career.

After resigning from that company, I posted my CV online and within a few weeks gained employment at Dalesridge. I worked with them for just under a year, working mostly on travel insurance websites. I found this fulfilling as I was using HTML and CSS (a coding which I am most comfortable) to create new websites from start to finish so I was part of whole process.
